The Coral Gables Fire Department s mission is to minimize the loss of life and property by providing effective fire suppression, fire prevention, rescue service and public education to the nearly 50,000 residents of Coral Gables, Fla., on a 24-hour basis. The department provides a high degree of professionalism, training, operational readiness and public educational services. The department s team members are trained extensively in first aid, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and crash victim extrication utilizing a variety of Jaws of Life equipment. Department personnel also inspect everything from schools to fire extinguishers at local stores. The Coral Gables Fire Department maintains three fire stations in the city and is responsible for an area of approximately 14 square miles.
