D.R. Ebel is a family-owned company with a reputation in the police and fire equipment industry for meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and delivering the finest police, fire and personal protection equipment from trusted brands, including Code 3, Streamlight, Able 2, Whelen, and Federal Signal. D.R. Ebel opened in 1978, with a primary focus on the design, engineering and installation of fire suppression systems, such as halon, CO2 and restaurant kitchen hoods. In 1979, D.R. Ebel relocated to the Northwest Ohio which afforded the company the ability to expand its product lines with a number of quality distributorships already reserved in the Detroit area. With the 1983 acquisition of a fire equipment company in Sandusky, Ohio our sales and service doubled. In 1985, a new division was formed at D.R. Ebel to provide police and fire departments with all of their equipment needs. At that time, we also began installing and servicing emergency equipment in vehicles. We purchased our present location in Northwood in 1992. Because of the company's continued growth two subsequent expansions were necessary. We launched our catalog division in late 1997, and overseas sales began in early 1998 with the advent of our website. At D.R. Ebel, we are proud to be a member of Code 3 & Kustom Signal's PI (Police Installer) program. In addition, we are an authorized repair center for Federal Signal and a regional repair center for both Streamlight Flashlights and Kustom Signals.
