Founded in 1906, the West View Fire Department has been providing fire protection and emergency assistance services for more than 100 years. It maintains a fleet of fire engines and rescue vehicles, as well as equipment, such as water pumps and tanks, ventilation saws, gas meters, automated electronic defibrillators and thermal imaging cameras. The department responds to over 120 service calls annually and hosts weekly bingo nights to raise funds for new equipment. In addition, the West View Fire Department maintains several breathing apparatus. It features a banquet facility that provides catering services for weddings and birthday parties. Cherry City Volunteer Fire Company provides suppression and rescue services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The company provides fire protection services for more than 1,900 residents of Shaler Township in Pennsylvania. It covers an area of over 3 square miles. Cherry City Volunteer Fire Company maintains several halls that can accommodate up to 650 guests and are available on rent for organizing weddings and meetings. The company conducts fundraisers, as well as was established in 1919. It also organizes company meetings and training sessions.
