The Department of Community Affairs - Division of Community Planning supports various growth management programs and related initiatives. It conducts an alternative state review process pilot program that provides an expedited process for comprehensive plan amendments. The division also administers a certification program that allows local governments to adopt, implement and enforce its comprehensive plans and demonstrate technical financial and administrative expertise. The Department of Community Affairs - Division of Community Planning collaborates with the American Planning Association, Council for Sustainable Florida, Florida Chamber's Environmental Network, Florida Economic Development Council, Florida Main Street Program and Water Management Districts.
