Set up in 1971, the McHenry Museum was placed in a 1912 building that was earlier used as a library. The museum has 4 rooms in the basement to showcase rotating art work from local artists, the main floor consisted of three rooms, one of which had rotating exhibits, one to showcase historic works of art and the third for permanent exhibits. There is an auditorium as well which is used for cultural events or presentations.
