Platte River Power Authority provides wholesale electric power to four municipal electric systems in northern Colorado. The company s headquarters is located in Fort Collins, and it has facilities located primarily along the western slope of northern Colorado, in addition to Medicine Bow, Wyo. Platte River was established by the Colorado State Legislature in 1973, as a separate entity from the government.
