Music For Minors II (MFMII) is a non-profit that has been keeping music alive in children's classrooms and lives for over 30 years. MFMII recruits, trains and supports community volunteers who are trained for free each fall and receive all teaching materials at no cost to them. They have free access to our 5 music resource centers filled with instruments, CDs, charts, puppets, etc. for hands-on use with the children. They become volunteer music docents who share 1/2 hour music lessons each week in school classrooms. Lessons include singing/signing songs, rhythmic movement/dance, instrumentation and listening appreciation. MFMII also sponsors free school presentations, offers service learning to high school students, gives performance opportunities to children and sponsors an after-school kids choir open to all 1st-6th graders.
