Help Our Wounded (HOW) Foundation is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to restoring hope and improving quality of life for veterans, first responders, student athletes, and equestrians living with traumatic brain injury (TBI), concussion, and post-traumatic stress (PTS/PTSD). We remove financial barriers to life-changing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) while guiding participants throughout their recovery journey. What makes HOW Foundation unique is our whole-person approach. We don’t simply fund treatment—we provide education, care coordination, peer support, mental health screening, and outcome tracking before, during, and after HBOT. By partnering with established hyperbaric medical centers across the country rather than operating our own clinics, we can expand access to care while ensuring participants receive treatment from experienced medical teams. Over the past decade, our programs have achieved a 97% successful rehabilitation response rate, and we have proudly never lost a veteran alumnus to suicide. Our commitment to measurable outcomes, long-term follow-up, and compassionate support helps individuals reclaim their health, purpose, and future while advancing awareness of brain injury recovery. We envision a world where everyone who can benefit from HBOT has access to it, regardless of financial circumstances.
