It connects people in need of services through HelpLink 2-1-1 program and offers volunteer opportunities through Volunteer Connection. The United Way of the Greater Dayton Area is a communitywide campaign to raise money for relief efforts. The organization provides youth development, financial stability and health-related programs. With a location in Dayton, Ohio, it is a part of the United Way, which is a national network of nearly 1,300 local organizations. The parent organization provides various early childhood, financial and disaster response programs.
The mission of Miami Valley Youth Career Services is To utilize high quality staff to provide the highest quality of service with proven models which enhance the potential of young people to be successful in school, at home, in the workplace and in the community. JOG-Miami Valley, doing business as Miami Valley Youth Career Services ( MVYCS ), is a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) non-profit organization that is an affiliate of Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates, and Jobs for Ohio's Graduates ( JOG ). Both programs utilize the Jobs for America's Graduates ( JAG ) comprehensive School-to-Careers transition model, the largest and longest-running program of its kind. JAG programs provide youth with guidance and support through graduation and into entry-level employment with advancement potential or into full-time college or training, in order to assist them to become self-sufficient, productive adults. The Jobs for Graduates program services are not new to the community. Since 1986, over 11, 000 Miami Valley youth have been served. Miami Valley Youth Career Services was designated as the Jobs for Ohio's Graduates affiliate to provide services for the greater Dayton area in August 2003.
