Established in 1971, Volunteer Center of North Texas is a nonprofit organization that offers housing options and meal, companionship and educational services for underserved communities. It has more than 1,200 full-time employees and provides over 80,000 traditional volunteer referrals annually. Volunteer Center of North Texas works in partnership with nearly 75,000 organizations that focus on mobilizing people and resources to solve community problems. It also offers risk management, data storage and disaster recover solutions through its partners throughout the United States. The organization additionally provides online criminal background checkup and screening services through veriFYI. Volunteer Center of North Texas maintains a location in Dallas.

Vogel Alcove provides the following free services to homeless families: free quality childcare and educational enrichment activities; screening for developmental delays; play, speech, physical, and occupational therapies; breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack; baby formula, diapers, wipes, and other childcare supplies; clothes and childcare supplies provided free of charge to Alcove families; adult therapy, family counseling, and parenting classes; access to Parkland Hospital's HOMES Van for healthcare; and access to a host of community resources through collaborating agencies.
