Founded in 1979, Algart Health Care is a family-owned business, providing nursing homes and residential care facilities. Cedarwood Plaza is a part of Legacy Health Services, which operates several long-term care facilities throughout Ohio. Legacy Health Services offers skilled nursing care, wound care and pain management services for senior citizens. The organization s staff is comprised of therapists, nurses, dietitians and physicians. It provides respiratory, physical, occupational and speech therapies. Legacy Health Services offers neurological rehabilitation programs for cognitive conditions, head injuries and degenerative neurological disorders. The organization provides assistance with a variety of daily activities, such as housekeeping, laundry, grooming and personal hygiene. In addition, it offers on-site optometry, audiology, dental and podiatry services. Legacy Health Services provides outpatient therapy for gains in strength, mobility and balance skills.

Eliza Bryant Village, an Ohio nonprofit and IRS 501c3 organization, provides essential services for older Americans along the continuum of care in a safe, dignified and compassionate environment. Our programs include Skilled Nursing, Adult Day Care and Senior Outreach & Transportation, Independent Affordable Senior Housing and an award-winning Elder Justice Center, offering relief for abused and victimized seniors. In collaboration with the Center for Dialysis Care, we also offer on-site dialysis services. The Village is celebrating our 125th year of service to elders in our community. As such, we stand as the oldest continually operating African American-founded long-term care facility in the country. Despite challenging conditions, we remain the largest employer in Cleveland's Hough neighborhood. The Village was established in 1896 by Eliza Simmons Bryant as the Cleveland Home for Aged Colored People to care for Greater Cleveland's elderly Black community who were refused admission to white nursing homes and other key service agencies. Our current mission continues this tradition as we primarily serve African American seniors living in some of Cleveland's poorest neighborhoods. Eliza Bryant Village is a trusted institution in the African American community. Among many African Americans, there exists a deep distrust of medical institutions as a result of generations of poor treatment, neglect and abuse by those entities. We are Black-founded, Black-led and Black-serving.
