Located to the south of Savannah, Ossabaw Island is one of the largest on Georgia's coast. The island occupies 26000 acres (10521.82 hectares) of space, and is a hub of tranquility where you can feel one with nature. Ossabaw Island includes huge covers of marshlands, forests and beaches, making it ideal for a student or a researcher. The Island was used as an educative and artistic retreat by The Ossabaw Foundation in 1961. And 17 years later it was sold to the State of Georgia, who continued to maintain this as an ecological preserve.
