Teen Parent Connection

Teen Parent Connection serves the unmet needs of an at-risk population: teenage parents and their children. Our mission is to serve the community through education on the realities and responsibilities of teenage pregnancy and through long-term assistance to adolescent parents for their development of self-esteem, parenting skills, and empowerment towards self-sufficiency. With the Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn's renewed support, we can continue to prevent teen pregnancy and strengthen adolescent families in DuPage County. Our Pathways to Prevention programs provide direct support services to adolescent families, serving 529 young parents and their children last year. 2014 program enhancements include our fully launched Strong Dads-Strong Families project and Family Counseling Services. In addition, our Peer Prevention Program, delivered to middle and high school students across DuPage County, promotes community health though primary prevention education on the realities and responsibilities of adolescent pregnancy and parenting. Last year, our Peer Prevention Program was delivered to 13,846 students at 47 area schools.
