New Mexico Literacy Project is my free book and media donation drop-off and pickup service in Albuquerque's North Valley. The drop box at 5445 Edith Blvd NE is covered and waterproof and sits outside the gate, near the road. It's open 24 hours a day, every day, with no appointment. Books in any condition, no sorting, water damage included, plus all media: DVDs, CDs, records, cassettes, VHS, video games, and cameras, lenses, camcorders, projectors, slides and film. Someone is at the warehouse from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., seven days a week, and can help you unload. If the box is full or your load is too big, send me a text or come by between 8 and 3. Please don't leave anything beside the box. For bigger loads I pick up free across the Albuquerque metro (Rio Rancho, Corrales, Bernalillo, Placitas, Valencia County and the East Mountains), scheduled by route. I also clear the books, papers and media from estates. Outside the metro, use the drop box or mail books in. Every box gets sorted by hand. Readable books are resold to fund the work or passed on free to Little Free Libraries, and no book goes to the landfill. I'm Josh Eldred, the owner. Calls are in English; for Spanish, send a text and I'll reply in writing in Spanish. I'm a for-profit business, so donations aren't tax-deductible. A written acknowledgment is available on request.
