Established in 1942 for the perpetual benefit of present and future generations of Texans, The Moody Foundation provides grants to a variety of humanitarian organizations and projects. Its two main projects are Moody Gardens, a family-geared theme park in Galveston, and Transitional Learning Center, a rehabilitation and research facility focused on traumatic brain injury. The foundation typically awards 20 to 30 other grants each year to applicants based primarily in Galveston, Austin and Dallas. Recent grantees have included the American Cancer Society, Dallas Symphony Association, Garland Family Outreach, the Special Olympics and the American Heart Association. The Moody Foundation was created by business mogul W.L. Moody Jr. and his wife, Libbie Rice Shearn Moody. It has headquarters in Galveston and more than $1.5 billion in assets.

Lighthouse Charity Team

Our Mission: The Lighthouse Charity Team is a 501C3 Non-Profit Organization that provides volunteers and cooking equipment, for causes that benefit the Galveston County area during disasters and community building efforts.
