The Becker County Administration Department is run by an administrator who is appointed by the board of commissioners and serves as the chief executive officer of the county. The position is responsible for both the executive and operational components of the county's organization. It is the mission of the office to provide information and make recommendations to the county board on policy development and direction. The overall administration coordination and management of county function, as directed by the county board, includes directing the coordination of the annual budget to include continuous review of the expenditures during the year; serving as clerk to the county board and providing input and recommendations at meetings; managing all department heads and working closely with elected officials; representing the county board at meetings of local, state and regional committees and organizations; coordinating state and federal legislation pertaining to county government; presenting options to the board for their consideration; coordinating long-term planning; and administering a number of projects as delegated. Located in Fargo, N.D., Cass County Vector Control district is the community group in charge of making decisions about issues impacting the county with regard to vectors, which are organisms capable of transmitting disease. Its daily activities involve mosquito control, mosquito testing and trap counts, and community spraying and notifications. Established in 1988, the district performs its tasks by using an integrated pest management plan of attack that includes larviciding, adulticiding, surveillance and source reduction. Its field aides monitor and treat more than 11,000 acres of standing water within the county throughout the year. Cass County Vector Control district includes the cities and rural areas within Cass County. It operates under the control of a three-member board appointed by the county commission.
