While Northeast Seattle Toastmasters (Club 1161) chartered in 1952, the club today is diverse, innovative, and dynamic. It has grown into one of the largest and fastest-growing clubs on the West Coast. What hasn't changed is the community: since 1952 we have helped hundreds of members — students, engineers, executives, career-changers, retirees, entrepreneurs, authors, and other creators — get more comfortable and more capable in front of a room, and build real relationships along the way.
One of the most elite private clubs in the city, The Rainier Club is also one of the oldest. Named for Peter Rainier, a British admiral, the club faced a number of relocations before settling down at its present location, a Jacobean-style building completed in 1904. Today, the club includes a restaurant, event spaces, guest suites, health club and more.
