The mission of American Prairie Foundation is to create and manage a prairie-based wildlife reserve that, when combined with public lands already devoted to wildlife, will protect a unique natural habitat, provide lasting economic benefits, and improve public access to and enjoyment of the prairie landscape.
The Cody Dieruf Benefit Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis is uniting communities and families living with Cystic Fibrosis by raising awareness, providing emotional and financial assistance, encouraging health management, and inspiring life experiences. We assist families with our three programs which include: 1) Helping with travel expenses, copays, and insurance deductibles related to specialty treatment and care in Montana. 2) Offering Recreation and Fitness Scholarships for health-related activities for individuals with CF for all that are living in Montana. 3) An annual Mothers Retreat called "We Walk Together" that brings emotional support for mothers of cystic fibrosis children, who are caring for children with chronic illness. Open to all that apply.
During the past twenty-seven years, our Food Bank has grown with the needs of our community and has become a food resource center for Gallatin Valley. Our program started in a small house on Mendenhall that was donated by the City of Bozeman, we then moved to our former location on Wallace, a 1, 950 square foot location, and then moved once again to our current location on Bond Street off of North Rouse. We currently have 6, 300 square feet and are now in the design phase to add another 4, 000 square feet of warehouse space by next Fall. Our current space is used to house our warehouse, food distribution areas, and commercial kitchen which provides cooking and storage space for the HIS Soup Rescue Mission and other area non-profits with congregate feeding sites as needed. The kitchen also provides for our Summer Lunch Program during the summer months. Food Bank acts as the distribution site for area non-profits ordering foods from the USDA or Montana Food Bank Network as well. Large quantity food donations received are shared with area non-profits and low-income housing sites.
