Henry's Farmers Market was established in 1943 when the Boney Family bought a truckload of peaches and sold them on a street corner in San Diego. In 1999, Wild Oats Markets acquired Henry's Marketplace from the Boney Family. The Henry's family includes more than 20 stores in Southern California and five in Arizona. Henry s is a family of authentic farmers market stores that provides a shopping experience reminiscent of produce stands and neighborhood butchers of the 1950s. The company s stores have been around for more than 60 years in San Diego providing farm-fresh produce, vitamins and supplements and all-natural food, including bulk grains, nuts and candy, whole grain sprouted breads, fresh meats and seafood, deli offerings and a variety of grocery products. Henry s Farmers Market has a facility located in Escondido, Calif., where it employs nearly 165 people.
