Early and Continual Care We recommend regular dental examinations before serious problems develop. Care should be continued until such time as our patient wants to "graduate" from our office. We typically will see your child through high school and sometimes college, though they may need to be referred if extensive dental treatment is required. Dental Sealants The application of dental sealants is often recommended for the permanent molars. Restorative Treatment If cavities are detected in your child's teeth, various restorative treatment choices may be recommended. Nitrous Oxide / Oxygen Nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") is utilized to help make your child feel less anxious and also feel less pain during dental procedures. Oral Conscious Sedation Oral conscious sedation in our office involves the combination of nitrous oxide / oxygen with a liquid prescription sedative. General Anesthesia When dental treatment cannot be safely and effectively completed in the office, we recommend treatment under general anesthesia. Special Needs The dental care of children with special needs are probably best served by a pediatric dentist. Special planning may be required. Variations from conventional treatment may include pre-treatment sedation or preventative antibiotic medication. A ramp is available at the south entrance of the building, with parking in the rear.
