Dr. Brian D. Hitt is a board-certified UCI Health behavioral neurologist who specializes in the diagnosis and management of Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive and memory disorders. He earned his medical degree at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Ill. He completed both a neurology residency and a fellowship in cognitive and behavioral neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He holds a PhD in cell and molecular neuroscience from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and completed a postdoctoral fellowship studying tau protein seeding activity as a biomarker at the Center for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenerative Diseases at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Hitt has a conducted extensive basic research into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer's and related neurodegenerative diseases. His current research interests include bench-to-bedside translational studies to develop novel diagnostic and therapeutic ways to target the tau protein, which is involved in the pathology of Alzheimer's and several other neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Nicols M. Phielipp is a fellowship-trained UCI Health neurologist who specializes in the care and treatment of patients with Parkinsons disease, dystonias, tremor, Huntingtons disease and other movement disorders. He offers physical and electrophysiological diagnostic procedures and a range of treatment options, including pharmacological therapies, botulinum toxin, deep brain stimulation and lifestyle modifications.Phielipp's research interests include the management of Parkinson's disease and task-specific dystonias, such as writer's cramp and musician's, golfer's or tennis player's dystonia. He also is interested in developing techniques to better diagnose Parkinson's disease, understanding the mechanisms involved in deep brain stimulation, and improving the diagnosis and management of movement disorders in general.Phielipp's one-year fellowship at the Favaloro Foundation-Institute for Neurosciences in Argentina was under the mentorship of Oscar Gershanik. His three-year fellowship in neurophysiology and movement disorders was under the mentorship of Drs. Robert Chen and Anthony Lang at the University of Toronto.He also has participated in several research projects involving transcranial magnetic stimulation for the treatment of mood and motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease, the mechanism of deep brain stimulation in cervical dystonia, the mechanism of action of botulinum toxin in the treatment of writer's cramp and musician's dystonia and the treatment of psychogenic/functional tremor.Phielipp speaks Spanish and French.
Dr. Anna Morenkova is a fellowship-trained UCI Health neurologist who specializes in the care and treatment of patients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. Her clinical interests also include dystonia, essential tremor and other tremors, tics and Tourette's syndrome, chorea, Huntington's disease, headaches and migraines, myoclonus, spasticity and botulinum toxin therapy and general neurology. Morenkova earned her medical degree from Russian State Medical University, followed by a doctorate in neurology and neurophysiology at First Moscow State Medical University. She complete an internal medicine internship and neurology residency, followed by a fellowship in movement disorders at the UCI School of Medicine and UCI Medical Center.
