James Chen, MD is a fellowship-trained, general orthopaedic surgeon with a focus on sports-related injuries. His practice covers a broad range of orthopaedic treatments from fracture care to total joint replacement, ligament repair and minimally-invasive arthroscopic procedures. Dr. Chen believes in treating the whole patient and not just the injury. He continues to work with high school and college athletes to develop sport-specific injury prevention protocols. Dr. Halbrecht attended Columbia University in New York City, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts. He then went on to New York University School of Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Halbrecht began his medical training with an internship in general surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
