He received his orthopedic training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Burns completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Chicago. Dr. Burns is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and was one of the first Orthopedic Surgeons to be Board Certified in Sports Medicine.
