New England Pediatrics (NEP) was founded in July, 1983 by Dr. Rosemary Klenk and Dr. Dorothy Levine. The physicians met and completed their pediatric training at Babies Hospital, now The Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NY. They discovered a shared desire to enter private practice and opened a tiny office on Morgan Street in Stamford. After three years, the practice moved into the Physicians' Office Building on the Stamford Hospital campus. Drs. Klenk and Levine built NEP family by family and In 1985, Dr. Alan Morelli arrived in Stamford to begin his four year commitment to the U.S. Public Health Service - National Health Service Corps. He provided care to underserved children while sharing night call at NEP. In 1989, he became a full time NEP associate. In a short time, NEP achieved a reputation for excellence in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. Once the partners opened a second office in New Canaan,patients from throughout Fairfield and Northern Westchester counties. I n NEP was ideally situated to accept2002, the New Canaan practice moved into a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility designed to serve a rapidly growing pediatric population.
