Dr. Nelya Nemcek, a board-certified family medicine specialist, completed her residency at Fairfax Family Practice/Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Nemcek earned her medical degree and a B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California, Davis. She directed student-run clinics for underserved populations during her time at UC Davis. Her emergency and cardiovascular care research has been published in The Permanente Journal, Academic Emergency Medicine, and Annals of Emergency Medicine and presented at medical conferences like the American College of Emergency Physicians. Before joining us in 2024, Dr. Nemcek was a family physician at Fairfax Family Practice, passionate about nutrition, heart and brain health. Dr. Nemcek chose medicine to empower individuals to prioritize their wellness. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her family, music, and the outdoors.
