Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center

Nutrition Research Center. Our mission is to conduct cutting edge research in order to understand how maternal and child nutrition and physical activity optimize health and development. We do research studies in nutrition and physical activity for babies, children, and pregnancy. A few examples of our studies are listed below: The Expecting study is a long-term nutrition research study designed to determine how the health and physical activity of a mother during pregnancy could affect the growth and development of her child. This study is for moms who are currently less than 12-weeks pregnant and have a BMI over 30. The Sweet Pea Study is a three-visit research study designed to look at how a mother's health during pregnancy may influence her child's brain development. The Placenta Development Study is a research study designed to look at how the placenta develops in pregnancy. The Happy Tummies Study is a nutrition research study designed to look at the gut health and immune systems of infants that are fed exclusively breast-milk, Similac Advance, or Similac Soy Isomil formula during the first 3 months of life. The Brain Fuel study is a short-term nutrition research study designed to examine how nutrition and body composition affect a child's learning and retention. It is for right-handed 9-10 year olds that are in the 3rd, 4th or 5th grade and over 80 pounds.

CHI St Vincent Infirmary - Emergency Room

When we're young, our skin heals quickly from common cuts and scrapes. Typically, that's because we have good circulation and our tissues are generally healthy. As we grow older or develop health issues that affect the skin or circulation, even the simplest wounds may not heal properly. The St. Vincent Wound Care Center is the state's most advanced and comprehensive resource for patients with non-healing wounds. St. Vincent offers a full-time, dedicated staff of physicians and nurses with specialized training in wound care. We believe it is vitally important to provide the highest level of expertise to address the variety of causes of non-healing wounds. The St. Vincent Wound Care Center was developed by St. Vincent Health System and physicians at Arkansas Hyperbaric Associates who share a vision that it will be the finest resource of its kind in the state. Today, that vision has been realized. On every visit, each patient sees a physician who evaluates and directs his or her individual course of treatment. The physicians continue to work with the patient and the rest of our team to identify and treat the underlying causes of the non-healing wound. Our team approach extends to other healthcare professionals who may be needed, including physical therapists, nutritionists and surgeons. If you have a wound that refuses to heal with conventional treatment, call us today and find out how we might be able to help you.
