The Montgomery County Hospital District is a political subdivision of the state government of Texas. MCHD was established through special legislation in 1977 to provide health care for residents of the county. In addition to the legislative charge to provide indigent care, MCHD operates the county's ambulance service, 800 Trunked Radio System, and offers a variety of community and professional education programs. The Montgomery County Hospital District Emergency Medical Service collaborates with LifeGift, a tissue donation organization in Houston. The principal aspects of the partnership are aimed at saving and enhancing the lives of Montgomery County residents. The hospital district has been the recipient of the Public Provider of the Year award given by the Greater Houston EMS Council.
We are a 30 bed medical hospital specializing in mental health including a 6 bed medical psychiatric unit (MPU) treating individuals whose crisis is further complicated by medical issues. We admit patients ages 18 and older and offer a full spectrum of treatments such as medication management, individual, group, and family therapies, and social work assistance. Our hospital was designed with safety in mind. We have 24/7 surveillance with a dedicated staff that offers compassionate care.
