Family medicine is a specialty centered on long-term relationships between doctors and patients. Family physicians receive training in all major medical areas, such as internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, neurology, dermatology and geriatrics. Ray Hickey Hospice House specializes in nursing assistance and health care services. The organization features a homelike atmosphere and offers a variety of support services for terminally ill individuals and their family members. It features more than 15 private rooms and provides hospice care services. The organization also includes a spiritual center that offers opportunities for personal introspection and meditation. Ray Hickey Hospice House has been in operation since 2004. It administers various fundraising campaigns and programs. In addition, the organization features a chapel, garden, and art and activities room. Ray Hickey Hospice House is a part of the Southwest Washington Medical Center.
