Although these developments help make our patients better, they do nothing to prevent illness in the first place. In the inpatient and office visit setting, there is very little opportunity to teach and follow up on health and wellness. As a result, our current healthcare system functions like a hamster wheel within a population that is getting sicker for longer periods of time under the care of health care workers, especially nurses, that are burning out fast! Nurse coaching can help fill both deficits for nurses and patients.
