Passionate about supporting patients on their journey to grow their families, Alysha has practiced across several locations, including Athens, AL, Fayetteville, TN, and Lawrenceburg, TN. Alysha resides in Elkmont, AL, with her husband. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading murder mysteries, and attending Pink and Luke Bryan concerts.
Hello — I’m Brittany, founder of Empowering Beginnings Doula Services. I am a certified doula and CPR certified, with a decade of hands-on clinical experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, much of it on labor & delivery and postpartum units. From childhood I knew I wanted to care for others and pursue work in the medical field; over the years I have combined that calling with specialized training to support growing families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. I launched Empowering Beginnings because I believe every family deserves informed, compassionate support. Having experienced a birth where I lacked that advocacy, I understand how easily parents can feel uncertain and defer entirely to providers. As a doula, my goal is to empower families — boosting confidence, clarifying options, and providing non-judgmental, evidence-informed guidance so you can make decisions that feel right for you. We support all families regardless of age, sexual orientation, religion, family size, marital status, or path to parenthood, including surrogacy, IVF, and adoption. Our care is grounded in love, compassion, and respect, and tailored to your needs and values. I look forward to meeting you and supporting your family as you welcome your new baby. I prepare and help parents before, during, and after birth in a holistic and individualized way. Ultimately, I want the entire family to be empowered and educated through the birth experience. As a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I provide education, support, and remedies in your own home for common breastfeeding issues, no matter the age of your baby. If you desire herbal remedies, I can help as a Certified Herbalist. The Birth Boot Camp curriculum is used for classes for hospital births, out-of-hospital births, newborn care, and others. Ultimately, I want both of you to be empowered and educated through the birth experience. All classes come with a useful booklet. I am also a certified birth and bereavement doula, supporting women and their partners during labor. I will get to know you prenatally, help you with comfort measures and information during birth, and then follow up afterwards to see if you need help adjusting to life with a baby. If you need additional help postpartum, I also act as a postpartum doula. I can help with anything you need in the immediate postpartum. There is no reason to go it alone!
