Your Natural Birth is exactly that, YOURS. I'm Lia Berquist and I teach The Bradley Method in person in Long Beach, as well as live online via zoom. I teach these classes so that you can gather the information you will need to safely and confidently navigate the birth experience. Whether you're planning to deliver in a hospital, a birthing center, or at home, a comprehensive childbirth class is imperative. Take this class and learn to tune into your body so that you can fully relax during labor. We will cover nutrition, pregnancy exercises, anatomy, physiology, medical interventions, and informed consent. They probably don't teach a whole bunch in those 6 minute prenatal appointments with your obstetrician. You need a class. You need more than the free class at the hospital. Would you take a class from a car salesman on how to buy a car? Then why would you take a class from a hospital on how to birth a baby? Don't get lost in a 2 hour (or less) hospital class with 20 (or more) other folks. Educate and prepare yourselves so you can safely individualize YOUR medical care with The Bradley Method. I'm also a labor and birth doula with over 15 years of experience helping families through childbirth. I'm not just touchy-feely; I am a former litigator with solid research skills to help you navigate your choices. Doctors and nurses like me because I respect our separate roles. I have no problem with epidurals, inductions, scheduled c-sections or anything else you and your doctor consider medically necessary. I want you to be satisfied with your birth experience and will do everything possible to make your birth easier. You can call me anytime, day or night, with questions and concerns. I take a limited number of clients so I can provide personalized service to each couple. My philosophy is that every tool that has a right time and place, and only you and your careprovider can figure out the right choice for you. I can help you make informed choices by explaining the options and telling you what other doctors and other hospitals do differently. I'm comfortable with Western medicine but I also know all the tricks for traditional, un-medicated, natural birth. It's doulable!

My 4 week online childbirth education series is my own curriculum based on what I feel is of the upmost importance to know in regards to physiological birth, the medical industrial complex, interventions, advocacy and your birth rights.
