I have a well rounded and open mindset when it comes to all things birth. Although I believe that natural birth can yield the best outcomes for baby and the mother, I also understand in the importance of personal desire. I am very well versed on medical procedures, the process of birth and all things biological. I have a background of Biology from Nova Southeastern University. I often use this knowledge to offer clients nutrition advice as well as herbal remedy’s. At Birth With Balance we also offer Placenta Encapsulation. I also have extensive experience in childcare which is implemented into how I support my Postpartum clients. While also being a Dona certified doula Shaye is also a lactation counselor!

The Swell: Midwife Services is a warm and inclusive midwifery practice serving a 30 mile radius of St. Augustine, Florida. Our midwife, Elizabeth Ross, started out as an ObGyn in conventional medical practice. After her own transformative home births with midwives, she switched paths and now provides comprehensive prenatal care, home birth, water birth, VBAC, and postpartum midwife services to families of all types who want to give birth in their own spaces. She upholds the highest standards of modern, evidence-based care, while simultaneously honoring the sacred nature of childbirth and embracing her calling to traditional, intuitive midwifery. In North East Florida, you have many excellent options for maternity care, and we know this is a big decision and investment. Here at The Swell, we intentionally keep our practice volume low, allowing us to prioritize you and your unique journey through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
