"Birth should be your greatest achievement, not your greatest fear." -Jane Weidman. A doula is a trained support person for families before, during, and after childbirth. Although doulas have no medical background, a doula's role is to provide education to help empower families as they advocate for their needs, as well as provide consistent emotional and physical support throughout the laboring process. Brittney Semple is a DONA certified birth doula, a certified lactation counselor, certified in infant massage, and a certified car seat technician. Brittney provides services prenatally to help families prepare for their upcoming labor and deliveries by completing birth wishes, practicing comfort measures, discussing rights in the hospital setting, and more! Brittney is able to provide birth support in the hospital, birth center, or home setting, as selected by the family. As parents transition home with their new baby, Brittney is able to provide an opportunity to process the birth story, provide breastfeeding support, continue emotional support, and get families connected to resources as needed.
