I’m Katie Newby, owner of Newby Nurturing, a Licensed Nurse and Certified Breastfeeding Specialist with over a decade of experience supporting mothers, babies, and families. I’m passionate about supporting families through their unique breastfeeding journeys. I believe that when a baby is born, so is a mother—and she deserves just as much care, support, and attention as the baby in her arms. Newby Nurturing provides personalized lactation support and postpartum wellness to families in New Braunfels and surrounding communities, with virtual support available near and far. I offer support with latch and positioning, sore nipples, engorgement, milk transfer, pumping and flange sizing, along with personalized recommendations, resources, referrals, and follow-up support when needed. Whether you’re preparing to breastfeed, navigating challenges, or simply looking for reassurance, my goal is to help you feel confident, supported, and cared for throughout your journey. I'm Ashley, a 6th generation Texan, Texas State graduate (Go Bobcats), a mom to 2 wild boys and 2 wild dogs, and a Certified Lactation Counselor and Birth Doula servicing the Central Texas region. A nurturer from the start, I have always been called to working with babies and supporting their growth. I went to Texas State to earn a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences: Child Development, so that I could continue to support families in my career. Like many, my passion and advocacy for lactation began with the birth of my first son in 2015 and I have successfully breastfed both of my boys into toddlerhood. I began my professional career in lactation as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for a non-profit (Hispanic Health Council in CT) in 2018, went on to earn my CLC (certified lactation counselor), and I am now currently in private practice as a CLC and on pathway 1 to get my IBCLC. My years of experience in both hospital and home settings, college science courses, and direct supervision under an IBCLC mean that the only thing between me and the IBCLC credential now, is taking and passing the exam. Taking the step into becoming a doula felt like a natural next step for me and I am so excited to start supporting families in this area as well. "Get to know me" consults for doula support are free and bookable through my booking link provided. I consider myself a holistic provider and aim to work with like-minded families.
We offer wellness care throughout the life spectrum, prenatal care, birth care, postpartum care and newborn care up to 28 days.
