Dr. Walter Whitley is the director of optometric services at Virginia Eye Consultants and serves several important roles including consultative eye care, clinical research, practice development and the supervision of an extensive referral network. He is a 2002 graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry and completed a residency in ocular disease, refractive and ocular surgery at Eye Care Associates of Nevada. In 2009, he completed his masters in business administration for the University of Nevada, Reno. Prior to joining Virginia Eye Consultants, Dr. Whitley served as medical optometrist for Eye Care Associates of Nevada in the Reno and Las Vegas offices and helped develop one of the largest optometric referral centers in Nevada.
Dr. Joshua Black is a licensed optometrist committed to providing thorough eye-care services including the management of glaucoma and ocular emergencies. After graduating from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry with numerous academic honors and achievements, Dr. Black pursued a residency program in Miami, Florida, at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. There he received intensive training in glaucoma, retina, cornea, peri-operative care, ocular emergencies, and neurological eye disease. He then joined Virginia Eye Consultants and is now focused on providing a positive patient experience and establishing long lasting doctor-patient relationships.

Dr. Tomko has been practicing optometry in Hampton Roads since receiving her degree. Dr. Tomko has a gentle chairside manner and takes time to listen to her patients. In order to provide her patients with exceptional care, she is committed to staying up to date with all the latest treatments and procedures in eye care. Dr. Tomko has received extensive training in the treatment of eye disease, such as dry eye, ocular allergies and diabetes.
