Vizcaya Dental Arts is a dental practice on the Mercy Hospital campus, between Coconut Grove and Brickell, with treatment rooms overlooking Biscayne Bay. Two Ivy League-trained doctors work side by side. Dr. Flavio Kottar, a Columbia graduate and Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, provides exams and cleanings, tooth-colored fillings, crowns, bridges, porcelain veneers, whitening, root canal treatment, dental implants placed and restored in the office, dentures and full-mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Patricia Hong, a board-certified orthodontist trained at Columbia and Penn, treats children, teens and adults with Invisalign and with clear and metal braces. The orthodontic consultation is complimentary. For almost any problem, the first question is whether the natural tooth can be saved, and patients hear the options and the trade-offs before deciding.
