Maxor National Pharmacy Services originated in 1926 as a single downtown pharmacy located in Amarillo, Texas. Its name derived from those of its founders, Howard Guy Maxfield and Samuel Orr. In 1966 Jerry H. Hodge, purchased the pharmacy and developed it into an employee-driven, national pharmacy and health care service organization with approximately 300 employees. Maxor is one of the oldest continuous pharmacy operations in the 26-county Texas panhandle.
