A new Winter Haven plant milk cooler was built in 1996; this 22,000-sq. ft. cooler was the beginning of a major plant renovation there. The plant construction and renovation was begun in 1998 and completed in mid-1999, whereby the plant capacity was increased significantly. The St. Petersburg plant was closed in June 1999, and that volume was moved to the Winter Haven Plant. The Velda Farms Corporate Office was relocated to Lakeland in the summer of 1997 where various accounting functions were centralized and a customer service department was added. On December 22, 2001, Velda Farms was divested as a result of the Suiza-Dean transaction and became a part of the Southeast Region of National Dairy Holdings, LP, headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

Our concept was to create a magical space that would bring friends and families together and create everlasting memories! In fact, this shop was based on one the owner used to visit as a child when she realized her community was missing amazing ice cream & small specialty toys.
