We are 3rd generation ice cream makers. Our family has been making ice cream, from scratch, for 101 years. We cook a chocolate for our chocolate ice cream, have the cookies baked for our cookies and cream, brandy our cherries for the cherry vanilla, etc.
Old Village Shaved Ice is a mobile, Japanese-inspired shaved ice business serving Mount Pleasant and the greater Charleston area from a restored Subaru Sambar kei van and our original shaved ice bike. Inspired by traditional Japanese kakigori, we serve light, fluffy shaved ice with a wide selection of fruit flavors, optional coconut cream, popping boba, and our signature coconut bowls. We also offer imported Japanese drinks, including coffee, green tea, matcha tea, and spring water. What makes OVSI unique is the experience. Our tiny Japanese van, colorful shaved ice, and waterfront setups turn a simple dessert into something memorable. We regularly serve customers at Pitt Street Bridge and private events throughout the Charleston area, including birthday parties, pool parties, schools, community events, and corporate gatherings. Old Village Shaved Ice was founded in Mount Pleasant in 2020 and continues to be independently operated with a focus on quality, creativity, and sharing a small taste of Japan with the Charleston community.
