Carl’s, also called Carl’s Frozen Custard or Carl's Ice Cream is an ice cream stand that serves frozen custard. The Fredericksburg stand was added to the National Register of Historic Places list in 2005. Founded by Carl Sponseller in 1947, the family owned Carl’s is well known for its frozen custards that are prepared sans any artificial ingredients.

And if we don’t make it, we source the highest quality ingredients to use in our ice cream flavors, from Madagascar vanilla or locally roasted coffee. Abner Butterfield Cream Company was established in Stafford VA in 2011 to produce the best ice cream in the local area. Still in the early stages, we're already bringing smiles to northern Virginians at several farmers markets and retail shops. We operate primarily from the Purple Cow, our event truck, at farmer markets, festivals, and other events.
