AMIEL’S is known as "ROCHESTER’S ORIGINAL SUBMARINE SANDWICHES". Many others claim a history of subs; however Amiel’s was the original. The establishment was also the first multi-unit sandwich shop in Rochester. In 1963, Amiel J. Mokhiber, Sr. founded and opened the first AMIEL’S Restaurant, at the corner of West Main St. & Brown Street, an area also known to many as " BullsHead ".
