College Hill is a neighborhood around Brown University to really predates the college and is an area with dozens of colonial and early Amercian homes on the east side of the Providence River. It is a great historic neighborhood and made for walks. We included portions of it for our 2-mile walk through Providence.

Lots of excitement! The students are back! Thayer Street crowded and noisy. The restaurant lines out the door, hot rods, motorcycles, music blaring, everyone enjoying themselves. Took us back 50+ years.

Lots of hustle and bustle on the hill above the river and downtown Providence. Brown University and Johnson and Wales are probably the reason for all the small boutique restaurants and shops. I was staying in one of the beautiful private homes in the area across from a small park with absolutely beautiful homes and views of downtown. Just a short walk downhill to downtown, but a killer of walk coming back. Do what the wise do, UBER.
