My husband and I saw Fiddler on the Roof last night at this gem of a theater. It’s a lovely space, the sound was excellent, and the production values were impressive! We’ve been there before and continue to be impressed by the repertory company. If you come for the winter, check out their schedule and attend. It’s definitely worth it!

We live half the year in New York City half the year and in Sarasota half the year. The productions at Asolo are absolutely amazing. They are usually as well produced as shows on Broadway and sometimes even better. Come From Away this season was an original and lively interpretation of the original show that was so wonderfully creatively conceived. Primary Trust was another show this season that equaled its production at the Roundabout Theatre in NYC. This is clearly a Sarasota gem and helps to differentiate Sarasota from other small cities.

This production really missed the heart of the story. There were events that day overlooked in this script like the woman anxiously looking for her son was very underplayed, or the couple traveling with their new adopted Chineese daughter. We really take issue to taking the name of Jesus in vain loudly several times. They could have done so much more with this amazing story

The theatre is really nice and it was my first time there. I just wish we had seen a better show than Anna in the Tropics which was so boring my husband and I both nodded off in the first half. We left at intermission though! Not the actors fault but who picked that script? It was so much money for that- $100 a ticket and I spent the same for Come from Away at the Van Wezel the same week and was left dazzled. So, I'm going to be very carful about going back to check out the shows more closely.

Saw the musical Beautiful, which I had been wanting to see for quite awhile. A perfect selection for holiday season, gifting tickets, and entertaining guests. Tickets are available in a range of prices and every seat has perfect sound and view.
