tripadvisorShow was fantastic. Music was true Motown.Singing, dancing and costumes were right on. Just one small exception: When Marvin came back in 1970 after the death of Tammy and he was addressing the Vietnam war his outfit was not appropriate. He was too Glammed up with rhinestones and white boots. Not a good look. Please go see the show you will love it.
MoreWe went to see the Marvin Gaye play - which was very good. Both the singing and acting were fabulous. Nice smaller venue and all seats seem to be good.
MoreI just saw Once on this Island and normally enjoy WCBT's productions. But, I, along with a lot of friends (who were also there) had the same comment. Most of us could not understand the words to any song when sung by the chorus or for that matter, even by more than one person. At first we thought their Mikes were blurring the sound, but after a few songs, we recognized it was the poor diction. Fortunately, the script was easy to follow. It takes a lot of work to put on a large production but the play is ruined when we can't figure out the words being sung.On the other hand, the young girl (lead) was amazing, her parents and young male lover, held it all together. The dancers were fun to watch but hard to understand.Sincerely, Joan Sable p.s. I hope my critique helps with future plays.
MoreHave seen many performances here, with always excellent entertainment. The cast and performers are always at their best and give their all.
MoreTheatre ambiance is amazing. Very intimate setting. The show, The Dream Girls is just the latest of many we have attended. Very professional entertainment. The performers are outstanding.
