Veterans Park is the perfect place for activities. From kite flying and paddle boats to jet skis and sailing over Lake Michigan, this park allows Milwaukee denizens to enjoy the great outdoors. On weekends, the park is particularly crowded and during concerts, festivals or any traffic with the adjacent Mckinley Marina, it is especially packed. Its proximity to the downtown area is ideal and visitors can easily access the park to quickly exchange the clamor of the city for the green tranquility on the lakefront.

tripadvisorWe decided to spend the day in Milwaukee and the lakefront was perfect -- sunny with a nice lake breeze. Lots of pathways to follow. We walked to the art museum and then over to the public market. Caught the free Hop back to our parking lot in the park.
MoreThis park is really nice, but don't try to use ride share scooters. They will stop at the bottom of the hill and there is no where to leave them. You have go all the way back out of the park area.there is a nice shop for snacks and drinks. Great place to view the lake and boats. This is a great place for the kids to run around.
MoreVeterans Park is a beautiful day trip to be had by the whole family! There is plenty of free street parking as well as many places within the park. There are beautiful trails along Lake Michigan and also an inner trail by a lagoon. The lagoon hosts paddle boat rentals that look like swans. They also have kite rentals and have warm season movie nights. There were plenty of places to have a bbq close to the lake. The park is quiet, very safe and relaxing. They had picnic tables and park benches around the park too! There are many species of birds. I was able to catch glimpses of red wing blackbirds, loons, geese and ducks!
MoreThis is a nice park with wonderful views of the lake. They had a helicopter demonstration for kids the day we visited. The art museum is just off the park. Very nice visit.
