Pere Marquette
Pere Marquette Park Park

Pere Marquette is a beautiful, 1.9-acre park with a slightly-European feel located in downtown Milwaukee. In fact, it is located right on the Milwaukee River which, understandably, adds to its charm. During the summer months, this park is home sunbathers and picnickers, and it also plays host to the River Rhythms concert series. On Friday nights in August, don't miss the open-air cinema. During the winter it is the site of the Holiday Lights Festival.

I need to mention that this little park commemorates Father Pere Marquette's Camp Site - he allegedly stayed here in November 23-27, 1674 with two companions. They were apparently the first white men to visit this location. There is a monument with historical plaques in English and French at this park.

A relatively small park just behind the building of the Milwaukee County Historical Society. I spans between the N Doctor M.L.K. Jr Drive and the Milwaukee river and can be a good spot for a walk - maybe attend an event ... on the river shore there is gazebo. Also if you are walking the Riverwalk you could get here also , as mentioned it is small - in comparison to other parks, however it looked clean and the grass was trimmed so I had the impression that it was well maintained. At one corner near the building of the MKE County Historical Society you shall find the statue of Pere Marquette - formerly Jacques Marquette the French missionary who founded the first European settlement in Michigan in the later 1600's Sault Sainte Marie ... so for those into history could be also a place to consider for visiting. Overall a very nice patch of green in Milwaukee.

This is a wonderful green oasis right on the left bank of the Milwaukee River in downtown. The center of the park is a wide lawn that gets plenty of sun, and trees shade the paths that run along the edges. The gazebo at the southern end of the park doubles as a bandstand during festivals. Tour boats running up and down the river depart from Pere Marquette Park, too. And to top it all off, you can take beautiful photos of the city skyline from here! Spend a little while exploring Old World ‪3rd Street‬ and then relax here at the park.ome

Nice little park along the Riverwalk. You can hop on a river cruise at this location for a different perspective on the city. Well maintained and clean.

This is a pretty park along the Wisconsin River and the Riverwalk. My husband and I went to Oktoberfest here on a rainy, foggy night. We had a lot of fun even with the wash out. There were food tents and a beautiful band shell backing onto the river where a polka band was located. We had large umbrellas from the Pfister so we didn't get as wet as we could've. Would love to see this park again.
