I loved being in the boat floating on the water with friends. It was almost like being in Venice itself, but I didn't have to travel. What a win win situation. Leah and Gyorgy are wonderful hosts and made our experience on the gondola extra special. I highly recommend for a romantic interlude or a group party.

I have taken several wonderful cruises on Lake Merritt with Dolce Vita Gondola. This is the most magical way to experience Lake Merritt, a bird preserve that is the heart of Oakland. The vintage gondola is a beautiful and ornate boat imported from Italy, complete with carved lions that are the symbol of Venice. The gondola ride starts and ends at a lovely boathouse and ramp just next door to the historic Lake Chalet Seafood Bar & Grill.

I've been over 10 times in several years, and each time is just magical! The venue is so very special - I mean when you walk in you feel like you have been transported out of Oakland, California to Venice, Italy! The decor in the salon where the owners greet you is decorated with lovely textiles, art and books with an Italian flare. Leah and Gyorgy are generous hosts, that are warm and inviting, and think of every detail. Then once you are out on Lake Merritt it's so calm and beautiful. The charming gondolier takes great care to tailor the ride to your liking. It's hard to describe but any worries are washed away by the splendor of a Dolce Vita Gondola Cruise. I have included a photo of myself and my sweetheart from a few years ago. I highly recommend going with friends or your loved ones to celebrate a special occasion or just to take a break and enjoy living in the Bay Area.

Such a hidden gem. We loved our romantic gondola ride with the most fabulous Gondolier. He told us a lot about the area, funny stories of other rides, and sang several beautiful songs. An experience we will always remember!! Thank you!!!
