tripadvisorSioux Falls is full of beautiful historical buildings. Beautiful unique architecture throughout this city. The Pettigrew house and museum is one not to be missed. We went on a guided tour of the main house then into the museum , which was full of lots of gems from the past. Great way to enjoy the city and learn about the history of the family.
MoreThe home and museum were very interesting, Mr. Pettigrew amassed quite a collection. The home itself was smaller than I expected, much smaller than many homes today. It was quite ornate though. The home has been well restored and furnished. The guide was very knowledgeable and the museum had a lot of good history.
MoreOn a recent tour with my musical organization, we had a free day and four of us were together for the day, Research on the city had been done by the group and this was one of the suggestions. We were NOT disappointed. There is a wonderful museum in the added part of the building and then a FREE tour is offered on the half hour. This takes one through the original section of the house. It is magnificent! They have some of the original furnishings and others were collected (they are all from the correct time period).
MoreMy friend and I arrived just in time for a docent tour of the house. Beautiful house and the docent was so knowledgeable! He had so many details about the house and the family. It's quite a collection.
MoreIt's a beautiful house and a nice museum. Everyone should also see Pettigrew's statue by the Levit Band Shell. Read everything on It's pedestal. It is an incredible story. This man was a real man, the kind you don't see much today.
