David Davis Mansion or the Clover Lawn as its more locally known is a National Historic Landmark. It is a fine example of Italianate and Victorian style architectures. Built in 1872, it was the home of David Davis and is now a state museum.

This home was one of the best preserved homes I've seen, with most of the furnishings being original to the family. If you like old homes and history, don't miss this.

MoreFree parking, donation recommended. The small visitors center has a short video before meeting the docent for a tour of the mansion. I knew little about Mr. Davis, but Kim did a phenomenal job explaining who he was and how he shaped America as we know it.
MoreVery pleasant and interesting tour by our guide Jeff of the mansion of a prominent guided age politician (Lincoln’s friend and campaign manager). Interesting original furnishings, garden with original perennial flowers from the 19th century. Well worth a visit.
MoreInteresting history. The tour was very informative. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated wonderfully. I would definitely recommend especially if you love quality built houses.
