I walked by and thought about going in. But it seemed out that they were gonna charge you almost $30 to look at painting s that they wanted you to buy. Fairly small, with what seem to be at least a couple of interesting pieces, but I took a pass on it.

Too many artists most of the work looks like Paint by number The Walmart of Galleries. Go somewhere else if you want good art

The Portland Art Gallery has new exhibitions every month, and their selections can change daily as pieces sell and artists submit new works. In addition to original paintings, they have sculptures, highly-crafted furniture, and other items. I enjoyed the works of Allen Bunker, Greg Day, and Missy Dunaway that were on display.

This gallery has an amazing collection of contemporary works by over 50 Maine artists. There are original paintings, sculptures, and other pieces. Some of our favorites were the acrylic paintings with nautical themes by Steve Rogers that are so realistic that they look like photos, and Whitney Heavey's oil paintings of the New England coast.
